Front Cover Image

                      BEFORE                                                                   AFTER

This is my front cover image before and after i ediited it. I chose to use the above image on my front cover because i believe the image was very powerful and connoted/reflected the content of my article very well. The image is also very high quality and looks proffesional. However I still did not feel that my photograph was ready to use on my front cover without further editing. Consequently i decided to make the following changes to my image on Photoshop;
  • I used the brightness and contrast tool aswell as the levels tool to brighten my image in order to take some of the boldness off the shadows and to genrally improve the quality of the image
  • I also used some of the retouch tools such as the healing brush tool and the spot healing tool to enhance my models appearance by removing some of my models imperfections such as spots and blemeshes.
  • In additon used the magnetic lasso tool to cut around my model, in order to inverse my selction and clear the backround getting rid of the grey background and replacing it with a fresh white one.
  • I used the crop tool and free transform to centralise and resize/enlarge my image.
  • As well as this, i also used the eraser tool to remove any strands of messy/unwanted har, making my model look alot less rugged and alot more clean cut.
