In order to create the christmas card displayed on the left of the screen i used a combination of brushes and specail fonts.
Following on, i did not have any interesting pre-set fonts or brushes saved in my workspace (photoshop) so i decided to go online and download some of my own.
I chose to download my font from a website called 'www.dafont.com'. Once i had found and saved my chosen font in to a 'fonts' folder in my document i then had to extract the font and save it in to photoshop. Once i had done this, i was free to use the font when i chose.
I chose to download my brushes from a website a website called 'www.brusheezy.com'. In order to ensure that the brushes that i downloaded were compatable with my version of photoshop (CS4) i had to select the brushes tab on the website home page then display and choose the CS4 option. Once i found and selceted the brushes i want to use i had to download and save the brushes in to a folder in my user area. However the brushes that i wanted to use where part of a package, as i could not download single brushes i had to download the entire package. Once i had saved the bushes package i then had to upload the package in to the tool pallete in photoshop.
